"Maxine Nodel is an award-winning, versatile visual artist, published writer, and dedicated art educator. She holds a B.F.A. from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and an M.F.A. in creative writing from Brooklyn College where she studied privately with Beat poet Allen Ginsberg. Maxine exhibits and sells her art nationally and internationally, and her work is on public display in the NY metropolitan and Hudson Valley area. Maxine also gives public talks about her metaphorical art. She is a member of the Salmagundi Art Club in NYC., the Edward Hopper House in Nyack, NY, Arts Westchester, PelhamArt Center, Rye Arts Center, and the Blue Door Art Center.
In 2003, Maxine founded Millennium Art Academy (MAA), a high school for Bronx students she created with Bill and Melinda Gates, Carnegie, and Annenberg Foundation Grants. In 2009, MAA received the Lincoln Center Institute First-Place Award for Most Imaginative Curriculum in New York City. She currently teaches art workshops for c adults throughout Westchester, NY."
